Future Career Prospects in the Economy and in Research

Through its primarily English-language instruction and internationally recognised qualification, the Master program provides excellent preparation for an internationally-oriented professional and/or research career in the field of Economics. Typical professions for economists include work in international organisations, governmental organisations, research institutes and universities, in consultancy firms and business management, at banks and insurance companies, and in the media.

Further information on the advantages of studying Economics at LMU Munich, as well as career possibilities for economists, can be found in our Department Brochure (in German).

Moreover, Munich is one of the most attractive places for studying in Germany. The capital of Bavaria offers a huge range of cultural attractions and entertainment.  Being located close to the stunningly beautiful Bavarian lakes and Alps, it is also a great place for sport. These factors help explain why Munich is frequently ranked as one of the best cities in the world to live in.
